The following notes give you an overview of what happens to your personal data when you visit this website. Personal data means any data by which you can be personally identified. This website is operated from Germany; the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies.

3. Hosting

This website is hosted by STRATO GmbH, Otto-Ostrowski-Straße 7, 10249 Berlin, Germany. Personal data collected on this website – for example server log files or information from the contact form – is processed on STRATO servers in Germany. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. A data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR is in place with STRATO.

4. Data collection on this website

Cookies and storage in your browser

This website stores information on your device or reads it from there (cookies and similar techniques) only where this is strictly necessary for technical reasons or where you have given your consent. The only strictly necessary storage is your choice from the cookie settings: it is stored in your browser’s local storage („wea_consent“) so that it is respected on your next visit (§ 25 (2) no. 2 TDDDG). After 12 months you are asked again. No other cookies are set at present. Should optional services be added, they will only be loaded after you have given your consent (§ 25 (1) TDDDG, Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR).

Consent management

On your first visit we ask through a consent banner whether you agree to optional services. Without your consent these services are not loaded, and the website remains fully usable. As proof of your decision (Art. 7 (1) GDPR) we store a random identifier, the time, the version of the settings and your choice on our server – without your IP address and without any other information that identifies you. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (c) GDPR.

Your consent is voluntary. You can change or withdraw it at any time with effect for the future via Cookie settings, which you also find in the footer of every page.

Contact form

If you send us enquiries via the contact form, your details from the form, including the contact details you provide there, are stored so that we can handle the enquiry and any follow-up questions. We do not pass this data on without your consent. The processing is based on Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR where your enquiry relates to the performance of a contract or to pre-contractual measures; in all other cases it is based on our legitimate interest in handling enquiries effectively (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR) or on your consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR).

The contact form sends your message to us by email; it is not additionally stored in the website database. The data stays with us until you ask us to delete it, until you withdraw your consent, or until the purpose of storage no longer applies. Mandatory statutory retention periods remain unaffected.

Enquiries by email or phone

If you contact us by email or phone, your enquiry including all personal data arising from it is stored and processed for the purpose of handling your request. We do not pass this data on without your consent.

5. Server log files

The provider of these pages automatically collects and stores information in server log files which your browser transmits: browser type and version, operating system, referrer URL, host name of the accessing computer, time of the server request and IP address. This data is not merged with other data sources. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR.

6. Analytics and advertising

This website does not use external analytics tools such as Google Analytics. No data is transmitted to third parties for advertising purposes.

7. Fonts

This site uses fonts that are hosted locally on our own server. No connection to third-party servers is established for this purpose.

8. International visitors and transfers

This website is aimed at clients in Germany and abroad. Regardless of where you are located, your data is processed on servers in Germany. A transfer to a third country outside the EU only takes place where a service you have consented to requires it, and only on the basis of an adequacy decision or appropriate safeguards pursuant to Art. 44 et seq. GDPR.

9. Your rights

You have the right to information (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and to object to processing (Art. 21). To exercise any of these rights, write to hello@webengineers-agency.de. If you believe that the processing of your data breaches data protection law, you can lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority. For this website that is the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of Baden-Württemberg, Germany; you may also contact the supervisory authority of your place of residence.

10. Social media profiles and Google reviews

This website links to our profiles on Instagram, TikTok and LinkedIn and to our Google Business Profile. These are plain links. No plugins or scripts from these providers are embedded. Data is only transmitted to the respective provider when you click a link and open its page. The provider is responsible for processing on its own pages and its privacy notice applies. The providers are Meta Platforms Ireland Limited (Instagram), TikTok Technology Limited (TikTok), LinkedIn Ireland Unlimited Company (LinkedIn) and Google Ireland Limited (Google), all based in Ireland. The legal basis for linking is our legitimate interest in presenting our business effectively (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

11. Data security

For security reasons this site uses SSL/TLS encryption. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the padlock symbol in your browser bar.

12. Data protection officer
